Speed
The speed tier you qualify for based on distance is the speed
you receive. If for some reason the phone company cannot provide
the speed quoted, you will have the choice of either downgrading
to what can be supported or canceling service. You will always be guaranteed your
subscribed speed. Our philosophy is to give our customers the
fastest attainable access to the Internet.
Physical Connection
Your telephone lines are your responsibility. If you need to
have a technician come onsite to assist in wiring, our standard
consulting rate will apply for the trip. Most installs can be
setup by placing a DSL filter on the jack where your DSL modem
is connected, splitting the line so you can still use it for FAX
or voice. We supply you with these filters as a courtesy. At the
time of your order we will ask you how many filters you need.
The DSL Modem we sell is a standard DSL to Ethernet Bridge. Should you want different
equipment, you are free to purchase it from a third party. We do
not use PPPoE so it must support ADSL Bridging.
Reliability
DSL uses standard telephone lines to transmit and receive its
signal. The service is susceptible to extreme weather problems
like rain storms. DSL Is quite a reliable solution for small to
medium sized businesses to get on the Internet. We have the
tools available to troubleshoot any DSL issues very quickly
should they arise, enabling us to reduce telephone company
repair times. Most DSL providers start the troubleshooting
process at your computer, adding extra time to the process. We
start with the DSL line and can look at the performance of your
line and detect any issues there first.
Installation / Equipment
We sell DSL modems that basically convert the DSL signal to
Ethernet so you can plug it directly into your computer or a
gateway router. You may also opt to get a wireless gateway
router. Equipment carries a warranty of 90 days from date of
purchase.
Typical installations take approximately
7-10 days. If you order a modem from us you can expect it within
5 days of your order date. We do not ship equipment to PO Boxes.
